Trick or Treyton?

We went to lunch yesterday and Treyton said, "Grandma it's Halloween today. The sun is up in the sky now but tonight when the moon is up I get to go Trick or Treyton!" It was so cute and I thought I would never stop laughing.

The kids Trick or Treated in Crystal's neighborhood. Dozens of houses were all decked out. There were spook alley's, animated crawling witches, coffins, spiders, monsters and caldron's galore.

We cooked our traditional "Meal in a Pumpkin" for dinner. It's always interesting to see other's reaction to it but in the end they all love it...even the kids. It adds a festive touch to the night.

The house was all decorated for Halloween.


This was our dinner. The pumpkin is stuffed with a hamburger and rice dish. We also eat the pumpkin squash inside.

William Loves football and is turning 8 this week hence the number choice. A counselor in Crystal's bishopric is Ben Roethlisberger's Uncle. Roethlisberger is the quarterback for the Pittsburg Steelers(in case you were wondering). William plays football everyday at school with Ben's nephew's. It is the high light of his day...recess! (yes mom made this one too she even painted his jersey)




Trey told Crystal the day before Halloween that he wanted to be "Pan The Man". After some discussion she learned that he was talking about Peter Pan. So she whipped up the cutest little outfit for him from scraps. All she had to buy was a $2.00 sword. Trey started calling himself Peter Pan The Man.

Kaitlen was a cheerleader because she wants to be like her "Sister" RaLee. They truly are more like sisters than Aunt and Niece. She was so cute in her red, white and blue.

Go team USA!

John and Amanda went as Redwings fans.

Jayden came up to me with this piece of candy. She said, "G-Ma this is scary. Take a picture!" So she layed the "Scary" candy on the table for it's picture. She found a second one in her bucket and made me take it's picture too. She was so freaked out over them. It was cute.

When Jayden was done Trick or Treating she ran straight to her Pop Pop and dumped her bucket at his feet.

Carving Pumpkins!

We spent Halloween Eve at Crystal's house carving pumpkins. It was so much fun watching the kids design, clean and carve (thanks to Spencer) their own pumpkins.

Amanda made the best pot of chili beans! She took everything to work with her and cooked it in the kitchen all day. That turned out to be very hard on all the construction workers that came into her office. I guess I should have taken a picture of them before they were grubbed on.

Crystal made her famous "Spider Cupcakes". The kids love them.

This is Crystal and Spencer's neighbor and good friend Geremy AKA "Wheels" and his fabulous service dog Buffy. We tried to talk him into going as a vampire for Halloween then he and his dog would be "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".

Sage wasn't too sure about being in the pumpkin!

William is going to be brave and clean out his own pumpkin.

Now Wayne gets all excited about anything scary or gross! So he tackled his pumkin with gusto! We keep saying he will be a famous producer of scary movies! If it bites, growls, crawls, or looks scary Wayne will love it! So Halloween is his thing!

Jayden wasn't too sure about the "Pumpkin Guts" at first. But soon she was gutting her pumpkin like a pro. She was a good help up until we caught her putting it all back in everyone's pumpkin!

Isn't she cute in her little tie died pumpkin shirt she made with mommy? By they way that's chili beans on her face.

Now I think RaLee's pumkin looks like Dora The Explorer but she says it's a cheerleader. LOL She is too fun to tease. You did a good job RaLee!

C.H.S. "Coyotes" Cheer Squad 2008

At the request of the squad I have posted some of the photos from tonight's game. They played Tempe High and beat them 20-0! It was a very exciting game and a great way to end the first season of Coyote Football. I don't know if you girls realize that all of you just made history. You will forever be remembered as the "Very First" cheerleading squad at C.H.S.! So picture it, 20 - 30 or 50 years from now you could be at a football game and be introduced at half time as the first Coyote Cheer Squad! Each of you should be proud.

RaLee Recieves Her Young Women's Medallion

We had a very special evening with RaLee. When RaLee turned 12 she was so excited to be in Young Women's. She worked constantly on her personal progress and completed all of the requirements one month before she turned 13! Yes she was only 12 when she completed everything. The Bishop-ric discussed it with the Stake Presidency and the Stake Young Women's Presidency and decided to require more from her. They didn't want her to become bored with the program since in her mind she was "Done". So she has served in the Presidency numerous times and jumped through some extra hoops by doing extra projects. I think they just wanted to make sure she understood what she was receiving and to keep her active. So two weeks ago they told us that she was going to be awarded her medallion. We were excited for her and very proud. I think it meant more to her because of the wait and the extra work.


The Presidency spent allot of time making sure everything was beautifully decorated. It was very nice and created such a special atmosphere.


Each of the girls displayed their projects. RaLee's was barrel racing but also talked about developing her talents in Cheer this year. She received a porcelain statue for her project.




Bishop Nevitt presented her with her award. I have such a respect for Bishop. He and his family will always hold a special place in my heart.
