Our Day

If you want to know how the day went please read the post on Sage's Memorial Blog.

Things

We are going to the Coroners office this morning to pick up Sage's things.  The sail boat quilt he liked to sleep on top of and the quilt Aunt Amanda made for him that covered him, it was this blanket that was found wrapped around his face.  Crystal purchased a gift for Payten, a Fisher Price glow/singing sea horse, and Sage LOVED it.  So of course we had to go back and buy one for him.  He went to sleep with that every since.  Then there are the jammies I bought him for Christmas.
The sailboat quilt he was laying on.

We were sick to our stomach's watching the detectives photograph then place his things in a bag and carry them out to the police car.  We asked them if we would get them back and they said they would mail them to us when the investigation was closed.  I have worried about the day his stuff would arrive in the mail and prayed it wouldn't be on somone's birthday or even Christmas.  Instead they called and made a 9:30am appointment to come pick up his things.  I'm so thankful they didn't just arrive out of the blue one day.  Another tender mercy.

The quilt Amanda made for him.
This will be difficult...but we are SO blessed to have had him in our lives.  I'm so thankful for Sage and all that he has taught me and for every thing I continue to learn from him.  What a perfect little boy!

Burnt Offerings

Jessica said, "If you don't blog this I will!"  She made me take a picture too...but for some reason I really don't think this is as funny as she seems to think it is.

I've gotten into a really bad habit...I fix my breakfast, usually instant oatmeal in the microwave, and hours later I realize the microwave is making that faint intermittent beeping sound.  My forgotten oatmeal...well it's lunch time maybe I should just make myself a sandwich...
So I make myself a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch and then "Forget"...yes I forget I'm cooking...then I smell the smoke.

I have a sneaky suspicion I'm going to be one of those old ladies that can't be trusted in the kitchen alone because I will burn the house down...but I think it's because I have WAY too much on my mind and WAY to many things to do or I'm just crazy.  This is usually how it goes...hmmm I'm hungry....start lunch...Hmmm the drier stopped I'll quickly unload the drier while my lunch cooks...put clothes on bed...hmmm I need some hangers ( thinking hurry the stove is on),  hmmm...those kids move out take my  hangers then move home with no hangers  mom buys new hangers and it starts all over again...wait a minute is that a hanger on the floor of the closet?  Why yes it is!  Oh look those boots look really old maybe I should set those out and see if Teele will let me throw them away.  That reminds me the garbage can is full I need to put a new sack in it.  Wait while I'm at it I'll empty the garbage in the bathroom.  Walk in bathroom and think "Why am I here?"  oh look RaLee left all her hair products out.  Maybe I should use the bathroom while I'm here.  "Now why did I come in here?"  Sit down on toilet(sorry for the visual) and notice the garbage is full.  "Oh yea!  The garbage that's what I was going to do. . . take bathroom trash into kitchen and start to put new bags in the garbage can..."Jessica what's that smell is something burning?  OH SHOOT!  My sandwich...turn on fan...clean pan...ad new sandwich...walk away...garbage needs taken out...say to self over and over again..."Liz don't forget you have food on the stove!"  Then I get busy and forget a SECOND time...start over again...Lesson learned...stay buy stove and make sandwich.   It's happens all the time!
The darker one is the first one then the "not so black" sandwich is my second attempt

Third times a charm!

The kids say I have Half-heimers...I say I'm not forgetful!  I just have too much to do and too much on my mind.  Here's to hoping you got the laugh that Jessica's gets everyday because for some reason this is funny to everbody but me.

December Birthdays

Wayne turned 7 on December 9th!  Here are some pictures from his party.

Making a wish!  He takes this VERY serious.

Blowing out 7 candles

Cowboy Boots!

They are JUST like Grandpa's!

Grandpa taught him how to put his new spurs on his boots

DJ turned 22 on December 12th...William worked so hard making DJ a birthday card then Kaitlen made him one too...I think DJ liked those the best.

Reading William's card

Hugs from Jayden

He LOVEd his Ninja Turtle shirt

Then we watched our all time favorite Christmas movie "Rudolph"

What's a party without the boys hog tying RaLee with Christmas ribbon? Later DJ and Royal thought they would make sure she could still go all the way down in the splits...this almost resulted in tears...almost.

I Loved watching Jayden place ornaments on the advent calendar

RaLee and Charlee...we are sure happy with Charlee and RaLee thinks of her as a sister/best friend...such a blessing to Love the girl your son has chosen to be his wife....their wedding date is March 6th!

And of course I just can't resist these big blue eyes!  Guess who got her second tooth!

We have three more birthday's in December with two before Christmas and one on the 31st!  I have wondered many times over the years, "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!!!", having babies in December?  Then Crystal had two in December and Amanda married a guy with a December birthday...but that's okay we are SO blessed!
