Utah Trip - Part I

After spending a week in Montana I went to Utah to visit my daughter, Amanda, and her sweet family. They live in Nibley a little community next to Logan. Oh my is that place beautiful! We truly live in a beautiful country and have so much to be thankful for.

 I got to see my grandson, Nolan Michael, turn 1! He is such a cute little boy and so very sweet. He is also a very busy and curious little guy.

I had hoped to snap a cute shot of him holding this little dandelion seed head, but just as I took the picture the little stinker put it in his mouth!

Yucky! Nasty! Gross!

Needless to say, we had to stop and clean out his mouth.

What a sweet little boy. His momma and daddy sure do love him...and so does his Gandma Liz. I'm so thankful that I got to share his big day with him. I wish him the best that life has to offer and many happy days filled with yummy cake!

Montana Trip-Part II

My only regret about the trip was that I didn't put my thinking cap on and photograph the kids when they were all together! I have been kicking myself for not getting it done, but I thought we had more time with Haven and before I knew it, it was time to take her back to Kalispell. So with that said I did get some cute pictures of Kaitlen and Payten. Mr. Caden was not feeling well so we had to leave him at home.

I fell in love with Libby and it's beauty! Trees, grass, and more trees! Not mesquite, palo verde, cactus, or palm trees. Trees like aspen, oak, and all sorts of pine, trees that actually turn colors in the fall! Can you tell I live in a desert? While the desert has it's good points, come winter time, there is NO fall. If you want to see fall colors you need to go to Michaels, Walmart or JoAnn's and look at the fall decorations!

The air was so crisp and cool that it got me in the mood for hot cocoa, crocheting and Christmas! I went to the little store and bought myself some yarn and a hook. I found a free crochet pattern on my phone and before I knew it, I had made, RaLee, Kaitlen, Haven, Payten and little Caden a hat. The girls loved their hats.

 I was amazed by the beauty of the forest floor! I did not know leaves this colorful could actually cover the ground. Jessica kept apologizing about not having activities and trips planned but none of that was necessary because I was in awe of the beauty and just tyring to soak it all up! I had a blast, it doesn't take much to entertain this old desert lizard.

The hardest part was saying goodbye. Kaitlen is a very stoic person, she shows little emotion, unless something strikes her funny bone and then you can't stop the giggles. The morning I left for the airport in Spokane, we said our goodbyes, she gave me a hug, told me she loved me, and was walking out of the house, when she turned around and ran as fast as she could, threw her arms around me and cried. It surprised and pleased me to know that my little grandaughter loved me that much and would miss me. I still think about that goodbye and it still makes me cry. It was so out of the ordinary for Kaitlen and so honestly sweet. In case she doesn't know it...I miss and love her too!
