Grandmother
It was dark with benches lined up in a row, at the front she lies in a casket of gold. Friends and family gathered around to wish her farewell for a life done well. Everyone new her for her kindness and giving. Her happy smile, youthful blue eyes and hair of gold. She was always a lady and I was her baby. I will remember you as a loving grandma, with life in your heart.

"...Courage is my shield in the battle of life a power that comes from within..."

"The Things I Grow" or "High Fives To Me" or "Cheech and His Pot"

Maybe I should title this post "Dumb Animals"! Either way thought I would share my latest dilema...well one of them. First I had the cat in my Christmas tree...
Ahhh that's so cute you say...mmmm yea whatever. When DJ moved home Cheech, his dog, came with him. The dog becomes MOM's dog because it's my job to feed all who live here. I suggested, in October, DJ build a dog house for Cheech. His reply went something like this, "Mom that dog don't get cold! Look at all of his hair! Geez! Besides it don't get cold here!" blah blah blah. Well when the temperature dropped and the rains came Cheech got cold and I noticed Teele tossed an old saddle blanket on the porch for him. But that wouldn't do, oh no Cheech decided to take up residence in the pot with my asparagus fern! So today I look out the window and Cheech is sleeping in the pot when I get the brainy idea to put the saddle blanket in the matching pot that doesn't have anything planted in it. I go inside and wait. Then I look out the window and drum rolls please!!!........
I was so HAPPY! See the other pot that was his old bed. So I'm giving my self pats on the back, silent high fives and seriously thinking about dancing a jig. I can't wait for Teele & DJ to see what I did. Why I'm so smart why didn't I think of this earlier! Then I decide to take another peak and this is what I see...
What the heck! Maybe this post should be called "STUPID HUMANS"! So I shrug my shoulders, grab my camera and BLOG the DOG! Okay so an after thought...Cheech of Cheech and Chong loved pot...maybe I should change his name!

WILLIAM YOUR TEAM IS GOING DOWN!

If you didn't know it my grandson, William, is a huge football fan. His favorite team is the Steelers. He has a special attachment to Ben Rothlesberger because he plays football at school with the Rothlesberger brothers during recess. His love for football began as an infant when Crystal and I would drag him to everyone of Uncle Royal's football games. William was so sad when uncle Roy graduated. We had a football party at Amanda's house Sunday afternoon and William sat next to me. He was cheering for the Eagles because that's his schools mascot and I think he loves challenging Grandma. When the Cardinals were down by one he looked and me and said, "GRANDMA YOUR TEAM IS GOING DOWN!" He was sad when his team lost but that was short lived when the Steelers won their game. William has let me and everyone know that "THE CARDINALS ARE GOING DOWN!" He is so pumped for the Super Bowl. Grandma is very torn because I really want the Cardinals to win but I will TRY really hard to be excited for William should his team win!
