Coyote Football -A Night of Firsts

The night had it’s ups and downs.  I decided not to dwell on the confrontation with people who insist on standing in large groups in front of the people in the bleachers blocking everyone’s view, or the kid, after hearing the announcer advertising hot dogs for sale, grabs himself in front of Trey and screams, “HOT DOG”, or the fact that the quilt got lost and finally returned, the super HOT temperature and humidity and how our back sides sweated and melted into the bleachers, or the boy who decided to turn one of the VERY powerful sprinklers that came on after the game and point it directly at Crystal who was carrying a very sleepy Jayden, and soaked her from head to toe even filling her purse with water and how Royal had to come to her defense, how RaLee was left to gather up banners, equipment, posters and even clean up all the bleacher garbage all by herself, the long hike to the car with our arms full of stuff (now we know which parking lot to use) or how, sadly, we lost our first game.  Nope were not going to think about that but instead we will forgive and forget and move on to the positive.

The morning started early getting ready for game day.  Emily came by so they could get ready together…Who knew “Cheer Hair” was so important?  These two girls are so fun I always enjoy them…

Posters, Banners, Poms, Bags, Bows, Uniform, socks, Spanky’s, 1 fence, 1 giant “D”, quilt, money bag, tickets, change, duck tape, sharpies, pencils, and 1 giant run through banner…check…check…check!

It was a very exciting night for everyone and it was so awesome, yes I cried when the team and cheerleaders took the field for the very first time…IMG_8791 Such a beautiful green field…IMG_8794 Our girlsIMG_8795

Our first crowd and the bleachers were FULL.  I didn’t get a picture of the entire bleacher stand just part of it.  But trust me it was full!IMG_8807 The squad did an awesome job and looked so good in their new uniforms with their sparkly poms!  Their half time performance was so awesome.  Amanda recorded it for me and she is working on figuring out how to get it to me so I can download it and share…IMG_8832

IMG_8836 Our little Jayden stole the show!  She was so cute and loved her new uniform and was so happy to “be like Aunt RaLee”.  She was so excited when Aunt RaLee motioned for her to come down and join the cheerleaders on the field.  She gave everybody “high fives” and even shook her pom poms and cheered.  So here is Jayden…IMG_8814

IMG_8837 All the family came.  I wish I had pictures of all of them (sorry) and we were so thankful they braved the heat to show RaLee support.  Payten got a little hot and tired as we all did.IMG_8843

I know I always come back to missing Sage but that’s a huge part of our life right now.  It was so hard not remembering him sitting on our laps watching RaLee at last years football games.  He is always there in the back of our minds.  I couldn’t help but think as I took this picture that there should be one more boy in a red T-shirt sitting on mommy’s lap.IMG_8845

Amanda spent hours and hours hanging her head upside down off my lap when she was little.  So I got a huge kick out of seeing Izzy having the time of her life doing the same thing…IMG_8855

I was so glad that I didn’t forget to take a picture of this sign.  We will never see this posted again…IMG_8860

It was a fun night despite a few glitches.  I can’t wait for the weather to cool down!  I’m so thankful the quilt was finally found and we were able to get some tickets sold.

Coyote Pride

I got to go see SOME of the new high school at the open house last Monday.  The cheerleaders had to conduct the tours so RaLee was going to be busy.  We decided to go early so she could take me around to her classes.  Because we were so early I didn’t get to see everything but here are a few of the pictures I took.  This school is AMAZING  to say the least.  All of my kids were fortunate to attend brand new High Schools but I think this one takes the cake!IMG_8691

RaLee’s Agriculture Science class has the job of maintaining this garden.  IMG_8692

There are tons of hallways.  It was like a maze I was glad RaLee and Emily knew where they were going!IMG_8693

There are TONS of stairs…I thought I was going to pass out.  RaLee has to go up and down them every class change.  She really didn’t get a break when it came to convenience of class schedule!  RaLee is looking down at me laughing and saying, “Come on old lady your almost there!”IMG_8694

This is RaLee demonstrating how she feels about these stairs at the end of the day!IMG_8695

I think this is her Physics class…Who knows I was too busy trying to catch my breath after all the stair climbing!IMG_8696

They have balconies with tables to sit on while they enjoy awesome views!IMG_8700

Just more class rooms…IMG_8703

This is where she sit’s during Coyote Skills…an awesome program by the way!  She was telling me that she is turning over a new leaf this year and CHOSE to sit in the front of the class where she will be less apt to GAB!IMG_8702

This is the room the cheerleaders practice their cheer dances in.  It’s complete with audio and video.  These kids are so blessed!IMG_8717

Another great balcony viewIMG_8706

So we have been very busy around our house preparing for this Thursday.  What is Thursday you ask?  Well it’s Comb’s High’s FIRST EVER HOME FOOTBALL GAME!  We are so excited and RaLee, Crystal and I have worked for three weeks getting ready.  RaLee painted TONS of posters and even this banner that she Free Handed on a sheet!  She is constantly amazing me with her many talentsIMG_8759

These girls painted so many posters IMG_8767

Then the RaLee asked if Crystal and I could make bows for the J.V. squad so we made bows.IMG_8719

And back to the store we went to buy more clips and ribbon for the Freshman squad…poor Crystal worked for hours and hours on these bows!IMG_8720

Then we learned that they can’t wear CLIPS because of the stunting so now I have to pull all the bows off of their clips and tie them onto elastic hair ties…for safety.  Live and Learn.

Then the girls are in desperate need of fund raising activities so I made a quilt to be raffled off at the last home game.  I’m happy to say it’s finally DONE!  It’s nothing fancy due to short notice but hopefully they sell enough tickets to help bring down their $2,000 deficit.IMG_8778

Of course when ever Ray and Emily get together we have a lot of this…

IMG_8769

My house looks like it threw up red and black.  I have one more thing to make and I’ll be done (for now).  I’m making Jayden a cheer uniform today I can’t wait to see her in it she is going to look adorable!    So can you tell there is a lot of Coyote Pride going on at the Reidhead house!  Of course we will take tons of pictures and blog about the first home game!  I’m so excited because every game last year was away.  Having their own field to play and cheer on is really exciting!
