The Things Kids Say and Do

I just love the things the kids come up with so after Kaitlen's conversation with Jessica this morning I thought I would share.

This morning while waiting for her bus to arrive Kaitlen had a conversation with her mom. It went something like this:
Kailten: Pointing toward the VERY nice house across the street said, "Mom that's a really rich house, ha?"
Jessica: Yes it is
Kaitlen: The boy that lives in that house rides the bus with me.
Jessica: Oh he does?
Kaitlen: Yes that's probably why he's always smiling because he's rich!

Kaitlen:
Halloween of 2006 I made Kaitlen a Fairy Witch Costume at her request with lots of bright colors and took her Trick or Treating. She was so excited and her excitement grew as each new treat was added to her bag. She finally looked at me and said, "Grandma this is the best night ever. I mean every time I knock on a door it just get's better and better!"

When Kaitlen got home from school today she told us that she learned a new song that she really liked. We asked her to sing it for us and this is what she sang, "Your a Grand Old Flag your an old greasy rag and forever in peace may you wave." Jessica and I laughed till we cried.

Wayne: The other day Wayne was playing outside with the kids when he came inside with a big grin on his face. He had found a big stick and tied a red bandana to the end of it and had it flung over his shoulder. Like the ones the Hobo's used to use. Then in his goofy little way he proclaims, "Goodbye guys I'm off to find a new family!"

As Christmas was approaching each of Crystal's kids had gotten gifts for each other. Wayne came down stairs and placed a carefully wrapped gift under the tree for his brother William. The gift lay under the tree for a few days when Wayne offered it to William. William was so excited because he got to open one of his gifts early. He tore into the gift only to find a pair of his underware. William looked at him all confused when Wayne began to sing..."Your gettin' a Wedgie for Christamas...cause mommy and daddy are mad! Your gettin' a Wedgie for Christmas!" It was so funny...this little guy thought of this all by himself. He had just turned 5.

Jayden: Will and Wayne went back to school on Monday. Trey started pre-school today on Jayden's 3rd birthday. After Jayden said goodbye to Trey and the door was shut she lay on the floor in tears. "First my Sage left me to go to Heaven and now the boys left me for school." Poor little girl that just broke my heart.

This is how a conversation between Teele and RaLee went a couple of nights ago.
RaLee: Look at my Abs
Everyone looks but Teele so...
RaLee: Dad look at my Jabs
Teele: Ha?
RaLee: Look at my Abs
Teele: Ha?
RaLee: Look at my Jabs
Teele: What the hells a Jab?
RaLee: I don't know! I said, "Look at my Abs"
Teele: What Abs?
RaLee: Dad I said Jabs!
Teele: What the hell is a JAB!
RaLee: I don't know dad I said AB!
Teele: Oh hell RaLee you know I'm hard of hearing I thought you were saying JAB!
Then the entire room burst into laughter! Let me tell you that RaLee does love pulling stuff on her father. By the way...he made her remove the nail polish. She was rubbing it off and he kept telling her, "RaLee go easy!" "Ouch that hurts!" "Hey be soft now!" Finally she said, "Dad I'm being as gentle as I can this shouldn't hurt!" Then Teele say's. "Well Hell RaLee I've scraped and scraped on that nail polish with my finger nails and my toes are raw! GO EASY!"

RaLee has a few paybacks coming her way! I still owe her big time. A little over a year ago I had baked some really nice soft chewy chocolate chip cookies. I put 3 on a plate and poured me a cup of milk. The cookies were still very hot so I went to the bathroom while they cooled. I came back and enjoyed my cookies. Then RaLee asked me if my cookies were good. I said, "Yes didn't you try one?". Then she started laughing...I mean full out roll on the floor laugh till you wet your pants laughing. When she calmed down she proceeded to tell me that she had licked each of my cookies front and back! I vowed to get her back and haven't as of yet. I do remind her quite often that she has it coming...any suggestions?

Butterfly's, Princess's, Pink and Birthdays

Jayden, my grandaughter, will be 3 on Aug. 4th!  Crystal had an all girl birthday party for her this past Saturday and it was amazing.  The girls had so much fun.  She invited some of the little girl's who live on her street and also attend the same Ward, some friends and of course cousins.  Jayden was SO excited the entire week that led up to her party or her "Pink Party" as she called it.  She was thrilled that "No Boys Were Allowed"!  As usual Crystal put a lot of time, thought and work into her party.   So here is Jayden's Day!

 This is my grandaughter Izzy and my Great Grand Niece Tynley.  They were born 5 days apart!

The girl's each decorated little photo albums. 

Then they decorated cupcakes!

Then they all sang "Happy Birthday" to Jayden and she got so embarrassed!

I couldn't tell if she was laughing or crying.

Then when the singing was over she lifted her head and had the biggest grin on her face!

Then she opened presents

She was a little shy about it and asked for mommy's help.

Berlin got Jayden her first Princess dress and she LOVED it!

Then each of the girls got their special gifts from Jayden.  Large Coloring books, crayons, treats, jewelry and a hand made bow from Crystal.

I heard a couple people ask Crystal how much she spent on the party...because it really did look like she spent a small fortune but in reality she spent very little.  She got all the party supplies and the tissue paper at the Dollar store and spent a grand total of $8!  Then the craft supplies were also purchased at the dollar store as was the going home gifts.  The boxes of crayon's that were given to each of them were in the 25 cent back to school bin at WalMart.  The entire party was about $40.  I only say this because I want people to know that with a little imagination and creativity you can do wonders and of course the Dollar store is a magical place!  When Crystal and I want to get away that's where we go.  We have so much fun hunting for little treasures and sharing our finds when we get in the car.  Any way she made all of the decorations from tissue paper and pipe cleaners. 

Then she made tissue paper flowers and hung them from the ceiling fan and the banister and her house was transformed into the cutest little fairy land.  The little girls LOVED it!

After the party we noticed all of the left over tissue paper and we decided that it could be used to make more butterfly's.  Crystal is going to save all the butterfly's and each year ad to them with the tissue paper she receives from her gifts.  So she will make some more butterfly's and mark those with a #3 so she will always know that those came from her 3rd birthday and so on through the years!  Isn't that the coolest idea?

It was nice seeing Crystal so happy.  She has always made a big deal out of each of the kids birthdays but since Sage's passing birthday's are even more special.  Sage continues to teach us every day about just how precious life is.   I'm so thankful for my grandchildren!
