Perfect Day

Amanda hosted a wonderful baby shower for Crystal today.  She did a fantastic job!  The food, decorations, games, prizes...all of it was perfect!  I am so proud of her and the domestic skills/talents that she has developed.  It was a perfect day and a perfect shower for a perfectly happy occasion!
Good Food
Beautiful Decorations

And one Very Happy Mom & Dad
I have to be honest there were several times that the tears just fell.  At one point Crystal just burst into tears and said, "I'm sorry I just can't help it."  There is so much happiness and fear all wrapped up into this baby that it can be overwhelming.  Grandma is a basket case so I can only imagine how Crystal is feeling.
Big Sister, Jayden, is so excited!
When the shower was over she grabbed the onesie's and disappeared upstairs for quite some time.  This is what she was doing....
She had neatly folded them and placed them in baby sisters drawer!
I LOVE the name they have chosen for her.  Elizabeth is my first name and Crystal's middle name.  My new grandaughter will be named Ellizabeth Mae!  They added an extra "L" so she will be called, "Elli Mae".  Mae is Spencer's grandmother's name and his sister Georgia's middle name.  I think it's perfectly adorable!  But I must say this is my fourth grandaughter to have my name and it is a huge honor!  We have Kaitlen Elizabeth, Jayden RayAnn (Ann is my middle name), then Isabelle Kay (Isabelle is the spanish form of Elizabeth) and she is called Izzy versus Lizzy.  And now we will have Miss Elli Mae...so cute!

Five wonderful mothers all expecting!
Left to right:  Sister-in-Law: Georgia Mae due in March,  Sister-in-Law: Carolyn due January, Crystal's sister Amanda, Due October 31, then Crystal's childhood friend Mariah Due mid October, and finally Crystal due September 3rd!  Everyone of these women hold a special place in my heart and all five of them are awesome mothers with 20 children between them!
All the wonderful gifts for Baby Elli
Elli Mae's Nursery
Elli will not have a nursery of her own.  Sage's room will remain empty and Elli Mae will be in Crystal and Spencer's room, highly monitored and within arms reach.  Crystal has done a wonderful job of decorating Elli's space!

Elli's bedding has humming birds.  If you have been reading Sage's blog you will know that it seems when times are getting a little tuff Sage sends a humming bird.

Every dress hanging on the crib and basinette was bought by one VERY excited Daddy!
Notice the second dress from the left?  The green one...
It's very special because...

Crib skirt.  I can't believe I didn't get a picture of the back side of Elli's bumper pads.  They are beautifully smocked the detail is amazing.
Daddy went on a huge shopping spree a couple of weeks ago.  He took special care choosing the perfect crib paying close attention to safety.
Spencer did many hours of research and finally found the perfect crib mattress.  The mattress is made from bamboo and is completely breathe-able.  Full air flow for Elli.  The bamboo is srubbable and water proof too.  One side of the mattress is firm and very flat for the infant stage then can be turned over for a softer more pillowy side for the toddler stage.  Don't ask how expensive it was because peace of mind is worth a lot!  Isn't Elli's space awesome!
Everybody is so excited to meet Elli.  I don't think a day will go by that she doesn't feel completely loved!

It's Only The Best Day EVER!

Jayden has looked forward to her 4th birthday for months now.  As her birthday approached Jayden would ask over and over again, "When is my birthday mom?" and her mom and dad would say things like, "After Aunt Amanda's Birthday" or "Your Birthday is next" and finally "Your birthday is Wednesday!"  So when Crystal picked me up to go to lunch and shop on her birthday I asked Jayden as I got into the van.  "What day is it Jayden?"  With the cutest reply, "Why Grandma it's only the best day ever!"  "Well honey why is it the "Best Day EVER?" and she say's "Because Its WEDNESDAY!"  Gotta love Jayden she is so cute.  For the past 6 months she will just suddenly shout, "I'm BIGGER!"  She is so excited to grow up.  She is 4 years old and we are so in love with this little girl.  Happy Birthday Jayden RayAnn

Spencer's family can sing! It is such an amazing thing to hear so many people sing "Happy Birthday"! I really wish you could all be there to hear it because it always brings a tear to my eye-it's that awesome!
Happy Birthday to our 4 year old Princess on what was only "The best day EVER!"
