Christmas Project - Crayon Rolls

This is one of the projects I worked on this month.  I made them for the grandkids and their mothers.  Their mom's take crayons to church to keep the little ones quiet during Sacrament meeting.  I let them open them on Christmas Eve and gave each one a coloring book.  I was surpised how much the kids LOVED them!

I chose fabrics with each child in mind.  William Loves frogs...

And little Izzy...this matches her car seat but I just Loved the Paisley in pinks and browns.

They hold 24 crayons and roll up nicely for storing.

This was a fun little project and the kids really liked them!

Our Christmas News

Crystal and Spencer are having a BABY!  I can't tell you how excited we are for them.  I think of Sage and I cry then I think of this new baby and I cry.  I'm just a big old emotional mess!  I had the privilege of getting to go with Crystal and Spencer last night to deliver the news to each of the family members.  There were a lot of smiles and tears.  As you can imagine this decision was a difficult one for them to make.  They are so scared and so very happy.  While this new little baby doesn't replace Sage it will bring a lot of love, happiness, healing, and peace... and it will fill one mother's empty arms. 

Christmas Grinch

Crystal sent me this picture and said it reminded her of me! I laughed till I hurt!

Yes this has been me nearly everyday since Thankgiving!  I even have a dog that sits at my feet...and a little two year old blonde headed girl that is never far from the dog or grandma for that matter. 

The other day Payten was chasing the dog under the table and he got tangled in the cords to my serger. The serger went airborn...traveling up at an angle about three feet then landing about six feet out into the middle of the living room floor narrowly missing the dog. If that machine had hit anybody they would have been seriously injured. It took a couple of hours working on the machine, and a lot of prayers and LOTS of patience but it is running...barely...how ever it has a new noise that has me a little worried.

I think the only difference between me and the Grinch is that I'm sewing so I can give Christmas and the Grinch was sewing so he could steal it.

 

I have a quilt going on the frame in the morning and I will be DONE..with my sewing at least.

Since I have been sewing like the Grinch I haven't done much of this...

But if I keep on working and get very little sleep we will all have this...
