A Good Day and Some Good Things

Today was a good day.  Crystal had her ultrasound today and first off we have a healthy baby!
Spencer, Jayden, Trey and I got to be there.

And how could I forget "Bear" was there too.  Jayden was one excited little girl.  Trey and her argued all morning about the baby's sex.  Trey wants a brother, "No more little sisters for him!" and Jayden wants a girl because "I have enough brothers!"
We all admitted that we were more than a little nervous.  We have learned, as Crystal puts it, that we are not immune to bad things so for us we were praying for a HEALTHY baby.
And it's a....
GIRL! Jayden was oh so Happy!
As for Trey...well you get the picture.  Ha ha ha this kid cracks me up!

He was seriously upset and said something like, "When the baby grows hair it will turn into a boy!"

Then a couple things I like
Turning pieces of crayon's(thanks to Little Miss Payten)
into something usable again
And Finally this is my latest favorite thing.
It is Suaves new Rosemary Mint shampoo and conditioner.  I LOVE this stuff.  There is just enough minty smell and tingle that it really wakes me up!  I new it wasn't just me when RaLee came into the living and said, "DUDE mom that new shampoo is awesome!"
I know what a random post...baby...crayons and shampoo but they all made for a good day.  Oh and Spencer took us out to eat at the Red Robin then over to Jumba Juice for dessert.

Celebrating Caden Caldwell

Crystal, Amanda and I decided to get together at Jessica's during Spring Break and give her the gifts we had bought for Caden.   The girls really went "all out" for the little guy and for not having a baby shower I think he made out pretty well!  John's mother, from Libby, Montana, was also there visiting for Spring break she crocheted the baby blankets for Caden.  Can you see him?  He's kind of lost in all his cute outfits!

Then my dad and step mom along with my brother and sister in law came by to visit out new addition.  Mike supplied soda and Subway and we had a wonderful visit!

Dad was so sweet with Caden
Haven!  She was SO SO excited to get to fly in, from Oregon, during Spring Break and meet her new brother.
Grandpa and his grand girls
We had a really nice time getting together to celebrate our new Grandson...I think he is simply beautiful!

Getting One of "Those" Calls

The instant Sage died my world changed.  Things that were important to me suddenly became "Stuff and Nonsense" or trivial.  For instance Thursday nights I HAD to watch Greys Anatomy.  Sage died on a Thursday and that night I remember thinking, "It's Thursday and I could care less about Grey's Anatomy!"  I didn't watch TV again until Christmas but TV is not the same it has become "Nonsense" to me.  There are many other things that I no longer classify as important but I won't get into that.

You hear how everone dreads getting "That" phone call or having to make one of "Those" phone calls.  But I never imagined how "that call" would make me afraid to answer the phone!  I am truly afraid to answer the phone especially those that you get when you know people should be asleep.

Since receiving that "call" before I go to bed at night I make certain my shoes are right by my bed with a pair of clean socks tucked inside them.  Next to my night stand you will find my pants, bra and shirt and on top of the night stand is my glasses, phone and wallet.  Everything that I will need just in case I have to leave fast.  I realized how crazy I have gotten about this when every night in California I made certain that everbody's shoes were lined up by the front door just in case there was an earthquake or something.

Just about the time I think I might need to have my head examined I get another phone call.  Crystal called me just after 4 am.  I looked at the phone and saw who it was from and my heart stopped.  "Dear God please not again!"  I answered the phone and she said, "Mom William just had a seizure!"  I flew out of bed and quickly dressed and I was out the door in seconds.  We met Spencer at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center.  They rushed William in for a CT scan and we waited.
He had what they call a "Partial Seizure" but everything looked good.  He had played a hard game of kick ball the night before at Scouts and they think he got over heated and dehydrated.  So "all's well that ends well!"  right?
So my clothes will be close by my bed from now on and I just have to accept the fact that it is what it is.  I am not the same person I used to be before getting "that" call.  The challenge is not to become angry and bitter but instead to hold tight to that Iron Rod...with my clothes close by just in case!

"Happy Resurrection Day!"

We had a wonderful Easter Weekend!  Saturday we went to Crystal and Spencer's so the kids could dye Easter egg's.  The kids had fun making a mess and grandma LOVES watching it!
The kids always start out so "Clean"
Izzy
Pretty Flowers
Pretty Jayden

RaLee

The adults watched conference...with all of the distractions Crystal's Tivo sure comes in handy!
Sunday morning Easter Baskets...yes RaLee and DJ still get baskets!  I love playing Easter Bunny.  Royal and Charlee traveled to Holbrook this weekend and then to Flagstaff and home again.  When he saw DJ's basket Sunday evening he said, "Where's mine?"  I said, "Sorry your married now."  DJ said, "DUDE that sucks, yet another reason why I'm NEVER getting married!"  DJ loves making fun of Royal's new married status.  Royal doesn't mind at all he LOVES being married!
Then we went to Crystal's home for an egg hunt and dinner.  Amanda made a deliciouse ham!

Payten
Easter is Trey's favorite Holiday!  After family prayers Saturday night he said to Crystal, "I can't wait for the Resurrection tomorrow because Jesus will bring Sage back!"  She had to tell him that it probably wouldn't happen tomorrow but that he was right...One beautiful day Jesus will bring Sage back!
Bizzy Izzy
Wayne...I got to pull his tooth Sunday morning...I'm the official family "tooth puller"...afterwards he declared "I'm going to be rich!"
Little Miss Jay Jay
Baby Caden's first Easter
He is such a good baby!
Then there was some friendly but very serious squirt gun fights!

Time for PEEPS!

Both Cheeks shoved full of Peeps!
I asked Crystal if she noticed most of the eggs were dyed green she said the kids told her they did that for Sage...sage green.  So sweet...the kids never forget him.
You never know what's going to come out of a child's mouth especially with Trey.  He helped grandpa gather eggs in the chicken coop on Saturday and he later told Crystal, "If my Prampa wouldn't  shake those eggs up on his way to the house my "Pramma's" refridgerator would be FULL of baby chicks!  Prampa is a chicken killer!"  This little boy always makes me laugh.
Then for a bit of excitement.  Jessica and Amanda were in the front room visiting.  Jessica was talking about how she was having a hard time laying her baby down to sleep at night.  She is afraid he won't wake up again and Amanda was telling her how she really struggled with that after Izzy was born.  Then they both looked up and the two chandeliers were swinging back and forth.  They were swinging so much that one of them was actually touching the plant on the pot shelf above the door.  Amanda came into the family room and said, "Hurry you will want to see this!"  She explained what they had been talking about and how all of a sudden the lights started swinging violently.  She said, "Do you think it's Sage?"  I said, "You know it's probably an earthquake and they looked at me like I was nuts.  I tried to film it on my cell phone and couldn't figure out how to do it so Amanda eventually got some of it recorded after they had nearly came to a stop.  Then Teele's phone rang and his friend, Sunny Penrod, told us there was an earthquake in Baja, CA!  Sunny said it really shook his house.  Guess Grandma wasn't crazy after all.  But the timing was kind of strange.

We had a nice Easter weekend enjoying our family and listening to the conference talks.  I really missed not getting to watch it on our TV Saturday morning.  I remember listening to it on the radio for 20+ years and being so amazed that I could actually watch it on TV and this time we watched it on the computer...Teele was pretty impressed.
I hope everyone had a "Happy Resurrection Day!"....That's what Trey calls it and I think I like that name much better!
