Isn’t it always funny how we, as parents, worry and worry about what to get the children for their birthday or Christmas? We stress about what to get them, money, time, wrapping and we ask ourselves a million times, “Will they like it”? Then the big day comes they rip open the package tearing apart the carefully selected and wrapped gift and then they quickly throw the gift aside and search for another. They play for a bit and then when all the excitement is over you look over and notice that they are not playing with the toy but the BOX it came in? Who knew? Wouldn’t the children just love us if we just wrapped up empty boxes and gave that to them? Can you just imagine a child sitting on Santa’s lap and saying, “I want one doll box for Christmas please!” then your son say’s, “I would like a really big refrigerator box so I can build a fort!” Oh if only…
Any way you might be wondering what prompted this post. Well here are some pictures I took at William’s birthday party Saturday night. These little girls had a blast playing with his Star Wars box!
I was stunned when I looked over and saw Jayden in this box…she got in all by herself…I knew she was a petite little 3 year old but this was amazing to see. Cracked me up!
This box is not big at all. They would curl up really small then pop up like some kind of Jack in the Box.
I laughed so hard at Izzy. I told Amanda we should print out some “adoption paper with her name on it and put it around her neck” because she looks JUST like a Cabbage Patch Doll!
What do you say we boycott Christmas this year and just wrap up boxes in various sizes! Sounds good to me.
