“Babies In A Box”

Isn’t it always funny how we, as parents, worry and worry about what to get the children for their birthday or Christmas?  We stress about what to get them, money, time, wrapping and we ask ourselves a million times, “Will they like it”?  Then the big day comes they rip open the package tearing apart the carefully selected and wrapped gift and then they quickly throw the gift aside and search for another.  They play for a bit and then when all the excitement is over you look over and notice that they are not playing with the toy but the BOX it came in?  Who knew?  Wouldn’t the children just love us if we just wrapped up empty boxes and gave that to them?  Can you just imagine a child sitting on Santa’s lap and saying, “I want one doll box for Christmas please!”  then your son say’s, “I would like a really big refrigerator box so I can build a fort!”  Oh if only…

Any way you might be wondering what prompted this post.  Well here are some pictures I took at William’s birthday party Saturday night.  These little girls had a blast playing with his Star Wars box!

I was stunned when I looked over and saw Jayden in this box…she got in all by herself…I knew she was a petite little 3 year old but this was amazing to see.  Cracked me up!

This box is not big at all.  They would curl up really small then pop up like some kind of Jack in the Box.

I laughed so hard at Izzy.  I told Amanda we should print out some “adoption paper with her name on it and put it around her neck”  because she looks JUST like a Cabbage Patch Doll!

What do you say we boycott Christmas this year and just wrap up boxes in various sizes!  Sounds good to me.

That was so darn cute!! I laughed at all the girls climbing in and out of that box! I laughed even harder at little Izzy because she does look identical to a cabapatch doll!

I hate my fat roll btw.

That looks like so much fun for the kids. I like the Christmas present idea.

Amen Sistah! Remember the big old boxes I used to get form the furniture store in Holbrook? It was sure fun to watch and see what the kids would make out of them.

The kids really do look cute all boxed up!

Izzy is adorable and yes she is chunky but on her behalf she was the only one that was sitting down with her feet straight out in front of her while the other two were rolled up like contortionist's...Izzy just fit the box perfect for packaging...even her little outfit looked like what a Cabbage patch doll wears.
I LOVE baby chunks especially in the upper thigh it's just so cute to me. I feel so bad for you Cori I know what it's like to look at other babies (boys for us) and wonder what our Sage would have looked like and to make comparisons. It's the hardest thing to see babies that are the same age as Sage. I saw Crystal's nephew at Williams party and my heart broke into a thousand pieces. I kept watching him and trying to imagine Sage his size, walking around...I just knew Sage and Johnny would have been the best of buds and they would have had so much fun together at Williams party. It's just so hard and I'm JUST the grandma I can't imagine how hard it would be as a parent to lose a child and I hope I never know! So I try my hardest to love and enjoy my grandkids every single day...they are my world.

Why is it that everything out of everyone mouth is that I have a chunky daughter? Does anyone ever stop to think that sometimes that comment is hurtful? Esp when that's all they say, and they never say anything positive? Thanks mom and Chris, I agree that she does look adorable!

Cori, my heart break for you and Blades. I can't imagine how hard this is for you two, and our family. I'm so sorry.
