Sometimes when I think things are bad I look around and pretty soon I realize that I don't have it so bad. Take this lady for instance. Yes this is a real woman. Amanda met her in Spain. She rolls in mud everyday then sits outside this building to earn money. See the bowl at her feet? She just sits there all still like those soldiers standing guard at the Queen's Palace in London. I wonder if I could set up shop next to the bell ringers at WalMart. That should draw a crowd. I know I could build a mud puddle that I can roll around in. I can't imagine what I would look like rolled in mud!!! That sight alone should be worth something right? ButI really don't think I could keep a straight face. Now what makes someone just wake up one day and say, "I think I will roll around in that there mud puddle and go to that there Cathedral/Museum where all the tourists go and sit there and let people stare at me and take my picture. At least the mud would cover up my red face! I bet she has the best skin in town.

I will help you roll Dads rear end around in the mud! I would pay to see that! That would be so darn funny! We will make fliers, he will be sitting at the Corner of Ellsworth/Octillo, with all of the other dudes looking for a job! Right next to Rudy's!
All I can say is HILARIOUS! I would pay to see dad all covered in mud. He wouldn't be able to keep his mouth closed. He would chit chat with everyone he saw!
You make me laugh. That was funny. Imagine doing that to make money. wow.
Yes Amanda your right. Your dad wouldn't be able sit there all quiet and subdued. He'd be the chatting mud ball. He LOVES to visit. He completely shatters mens theory that women love to gossip and men don't. LOL Gosh I love that man. Rudy's would be a funny place to do that though but he has to wear his Santa suit. Then he can be talkative and Jolly.
Seriously Tamra it's very funny. I mean think about it...does she have some mud dobber on a stick to make sure she gets every nook and cranny? A special loofa or maybe a little Spanish assistant? I mean every piece of her seems to be covered. And what does one think about all day when one is "MUD WOMAN of SPAIN".
OK Dad would look funny, he wouldnt earn anything he would spend it on Rudy's.
Great idea! You should get my mom on board and could take a duo act on the road. Stephen went on his mission to Portugal and said that there are all kinds of crazy street performers like that in Europe. I can't imagine the thought process behind choosing a job like that. :-) What a great laugh I had.
Mariah that paints quite a picture your mom and I. In fact the two of us would never make it out of the mud puddle. We would just sit there rolling around and laughing! I don't think we could even sit there. We would have to agree not to look at each other cause the laughter would just start all over again. And we couldn't wet our pants cause that would wash away the mud!
I would pay to see anybody all covered in mud. That is the oddest thing ever. I am sure that if I could find a mud hole around NYC, I could make a bundle...wait, I would look just like every other homeless/dirty person out here! jk. That was rude...sorry. Pretty funny though! I love creative beggars. also, my addy is 3155 Broadway #7 New York, NY 10027
Hope you guys had a great TG!
Thanks for the address! Rustin that wasn't rude it's just being honest. What a good way to put it "Creative Begging"...and yes I think it is one of the oddest things ever. When I first saw the photo after her trip I thought, "Now what kind of statue is that?" I was shocked to learn she was real and came there everday for most of her life.
OK, here's the plan. Both of you roll in the mud, learn ventriliquism, and have a ball talking about people as they walk by. They's have no clue! Fun times, don't ya think?
Next call Mike Rowe and see if you can get on Dirtiest Jobs, so they pay?
Matriah, be nicre .. I still babysit .. maybe ... hum-m-m-m...
The city pays some of the street performers to be there. There is a mile long street in Barcelona called Los Ramblos and it is a street that has ZERO cars, but a mile long of outdoor vendors and street performers. It was neat. It made for such a fun trip walking down the street. Now you knew who the homeless were and they were scary. Many of them were called Gypsies. You can tell the difference between a job, and a the bums.
