Warning Not For The Weak!

Perfect ending to a perfect year!  My all time favorite Holiday movie is "Christmas Vacation".  We bust out that DVD and watch it every Thanksgiving Day and throughout the Holiday season.  This year I relate to Eddie the unemployed brother of Sparky Griswald.  Eddie lives in a home on wheels (yes we do) and he had to pump his sewer days before Christmas (Yep that would be us!).  So this is a case of "I told you so".  I have told Teele for a while now that the sewer was full and he always told me "No it's not I use Rid-X".  I would reply, "It's been 10 years and I smell sewer and the grass just over the tank died(toxic fumes maybe?) and I hear gurgling.  So Trey said a couple of days ago, "Grandma spiders are coming out of your "Baff" tub and it is growling (insert gowling noises here) at me."  Grandma laughed at him and yes I ignored him not unlike Teele ignoring me.  Then this morning after a shower that smelled kind of "Funny" I was drying off when I heard major gurgling and then the tubs, showers, sinks and toilets filled up...
...All the way to the top!...
...Master bath after ooky stuff drained...
...Master bath shower.  Yes that is red stuff ewwww!...
...guest bathroom tub.
I spared you the toilets because those were just well too much for even me to handle!  So $600 to pump the sewer now that's the business we need to be in! This is almost as bad as Amanda's TWIN cats two Christmas Eves ago! I almost didn't post this but I needed to vent!

OH I'm so sorry that sucks. How long did Dad expect to go without draining his septic. I mean he has at one time had over 15 people living in his home for months. I'm glad he knew a friend or you guys would have been screwed. I love the comparession to Christmas vacation one of our all time favorite movies HAHAHAHA.

If you recall I have been warning him for well over a year that it was bad and needed drained. Even today when I called him with the news he said, "Oh it will be fine it's just because it rained." The septic due said it was the worst he had ever seen. It was literally to the top!

You said it was just hard crap that they had to fill it with water to break down all the poo. Sometimes I wonder about Dad, he lives in his own world.

Ah the memories! Remember that real green patch of grass at the base of the hill in front of our house in Holbrook? The kids loved it and I had the hardest time convincing them to stay out of it. We finally go the new septic system in and then left it just a year of so after all. That just kiiled me to leave that beauty ... really ... it was so nice to not worry about it backing up when company was visiting from out of town. Funny how our priorities change isn't it?
