Camp Report

RaLee is home from girls camp and she had a blast!
With a big smile on her face.  She went home dumped her gear in the middle of the living room floor.  Took a shower put on one of her all time favorite movies, "The Sand Lot", curled up on the couch under a blanket and fell asleep...and she slept...and slept...for 18 hours!
Apparently she happened to find some nice boy scouts that pitched her tent for her...leave it to RaLee to find a way to get out of doing it herself.
Her tent/camp mate Kassady Standiford
Bunk at Camp Lo Mia
The hike.  She was supposed to leave her cell phone at home but she didn't.  I got a text message about 9pm and it read "Back from hike.  Hurting SO bad!"  I text back...what hurts?  Thinking yea it's her feet she has a blister but instead she texts, "My Butt and my hips.  Oh so sore.  Ahah"
So I ask why do those hurt?  She says, "Fell down the hill on the hike".
Yes leave it to RaLee to barell roll, her words, all the way down a hill.
All geared up and ready to repell
Looking fashionable...
Now when RaLee gets scared she laughs...she said she was terrified!  But she did it and in her words the worst part about it was climbing back up.
Skit night she played the gangster and received the "best gangster award".  It sure beat last years award for "most bug bites".
Camp sign, "Camp Iwannabestrong Fitness Camp 2009" "Fit For The Kingdom"
Another text read, "When I get home we are eating STEAK glorious steak!"  apparently she said camp food was all about noodles and veggies...not her thing for a meat and potatoe girl.
They all got manicures.  RaLee wasn't to thrilled about this because well, she also likes to chew fingernails and hers are SO short...
Trip home and a huge Sonic Dr. Pepper!  She said she earned it.
A last hug for one of her leaders, Sis. Lettie Petersen, RaLee says, "She's the bomb!"
So  I was a little bummed to think she didn't get a blister until I saw her pulling some band aids and tape off of the back of her feet...BUSTED...she wasn't going to show me but I got the picture
Turns out cheer shoes weren't the best hiking shoes after all!  But I was nice and didn't say a word...until now.  I TOLD YOU SO!

So RaLee got to go to Camp Hollywood. I used to love going up there, and it has changed a whole bunch since the olden days. The bunks look really nice. We had old army cots and didn't mind it at all since we had heard about what some other camps had.

Glad she had fun inspite of the blisters. You have more patience than I would have, but now maybe She learned a lesson . . we can hope! I'm surprised they were still in one piece!

It looks like she had blast. The cabins in the camp haven't changed much! OUCH, OUCH, OUCH on the blisters my goodness Rae!!!!! Remember that on the long trek we're gonna have to make: Nay, nay on the cheer shoes!

Girls camp is great, but I have to admit, I don't miss having to go. I didn't go as a kid. I don't even know if they had camp back then. If they did, I didn't go. Going as a leader was OK, but I never had a terrific camp experience, sad to say. I do love to go camping, just not so sure about girls camp. Looks like Ralee made it super fun though!

I think she always looks like a rock star in all of her pictures! I am glad she had a good time! I wish I could go repelling and stuff. We got to do jack crap! They so much older this year not so young......so sad!

Well...I DID go to camp and feel that I can add a little to the "report"...
First of all, along with always lookin' cute, RaLee always had a BIG smile on her face and a friendly HI to everyone...
AND that last night when I was there she gave the sweetest testimony! I really felt the spirit as she bore witness of the power of prayer and hope and enduring to the end. I was so impressed with her great faith and the understanding she has of the plan of salvation.
LOVE that girl!

Brenda thank you for that! That is something you don't hear from your kid. I wondered how testimony meeting went. Crystal used to tell me all about it and everyones testimony and how strong the spirit was and Jessica a little but Mandy and RaLee never share. So it's good to hear...especially coming from Mrs. Bishop :) I'm also glad to hear she had a smile on her face!
