We partied, ate dinner and opened gifts then took the kids swimming.
RaLee and Teele relaxing by the pool. It was a very nice evening! Poor guy was pooped after a hot day chasing cattle!
Our Birthday Girl!
Isn't Caden georgous? He is such a sweet little boy!
Then Royal turned 24! After a few of these photos (eyes closed) ...
I have to brag on Royal a bit. He is such a hard worker and he sure loves his bride! Any man that can work in a steel mill in the middle of a hot July summer in Arizona is my hero! It reaches temperature of 140 to 150 degrees inside the mill. Those men work hard then run for the showers, cool down and head back in. You can say "He Works Hard For the Money". But they have scrimped and saved and purchased their first home! They close in a couple of weeks and I am so happy for them. Their new home comes with a swimming pool and they are SO excited.
Then there is RaLee. She has been working hard this past summer on perfecting her "stunting skills" for Cheer and comes home covered in bruises. I used to think the flyer was the brave one but now I have to say the chick doing the throwing and catching wins the award. Her arms and legs are bruised everywhere! The girls are working hard to qualify for Regionals in November.
Then there is my poor hard working cowboy. I worry so much about him in the hot desert-especially being blind in one eye, having diabetes with one kidney. So I am always nagging him to stay hydrated and carry water! Then there is the danger of gathering cattle in the thick desert brush/trees/cactus. He literally has to army crawl on his belly through the thick brush and cactus to flush out the cattle. We are both terrified he will be crawling and find himself face to face with a rattlesnake. He has had some close calls this summer with the closest being a rattlesnake crawling under the truck with him when he was working on it! But when he got a call a few days ago from the owner of an orange tree orchard on Power Road to "Please come get these cattle out of my orchard" he thought, "Shoot yea! Orange trees! Shade! Easy Money! Woo Hoo!" It turned out to be one of wildest cattle round-ups he has ever been on. Turns out it's HOT and HUMID in the orchard and the tree limbs bite! Any way the first day he came home with his clothes torn to shreds but no injury. Day two his clothes were okay but not his face. Good news is he caught the steers!
This is the side he is blind on so he didn't see the tree limb. I tell myself, "It could have been worse!"
In closing I have to say that we all wait for something magical to happen on certain birthdays...like when you turn 16 and you wake up and discover nothing happened at all. Then before you know it birthday's come rolling in...way too fast...and then you wake up one morning and your 50! FIFTY!!!! Really??? I can't possibly be that old! But like my 16th birthday nothing magical happened it was just another day. You ask where is your birthday picture? Well I own the camera for a reason!
So here's to bumps, bruises and Birthdays for without them I guess we wouldn't be alive!

Oh no! Not 50!!! Wah, Wah, Wah!! LOL, it sounds really old when It's you, doesn't it? Well sister, that was a magical birthday for me. It went straight up hill for me . . . . until about 55 or 56 and then you know what happened from there!
Happy birthday anyway :-D
I could've warned Teele about those darned orange trees. The four that I have are attack trees and I look like I lost the battle every time I have to trim them . . . at least twice a month. I'm sure they are really bushes and someone decided to make them be trees . . . yeah right!
