"Thanks"Giving

Sometimes when things are really bad you have to remind yourself, and even concentrate, on the many blessings in your life. So with Teele out of work and no job in site and Christmas around the corner it's been a very difficult time for us. It's not easy to send your child to school with no breakfast or lunch money but RaLee is amazing. She simply understands even though I don't, RaLee just smiles and tells me "Don't worry it's okay." The water bill got paid! Now SRP is another thing and we let the TV get disconnected something we can live without. I am thankful that we have tried to follow the Prophet and avoid debt. So our truck and car are paid off as we bought used. We have no credit cards and that is a blessing. The kids are all helping with Thanksgiving dinner...yet another blessing.

We have alot of good friends who love us but most of all a kind and loving Heavenly Father that loves us too. We are going to church, paying our tithes, reading our scriptures, saying our prayers, doing our visiting and home teaching and both of us are fulfilling our callings and because of our Faith and testimony in the Gospel we will be blessed.

People all around us are losing their homes and so far little "miracles" have come togther at the last minute and we have been able to make our house payment. Our Heavenly Father is a God of miracles!

I'm thankful for my children each and every one of them. I have THREE perfect son-in-laws. They are my life and my Grandchildren are evidence of Gods love. They are perfect, beautiful and chosen little spirits of a Kind and Loving Heavenly Father.

I am thankful for our trials, yes ALL of them, because it draws us closer to each other and our Heavenly Father. It helps us grow and tests our testimonies and they remind us of our blessings.

I am thankful John found a really good second job with the US postal service and that he works so hard for Jessica and their three daughters.

I am thankful Spencer and Amanda's John are such hard workers that they both managed to by pass the Lay Off at both of their companies. They are all so dependable and hard working.

I wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving! May you feel the Love of our Heavenly Father this Holiday season.

First of all I love you very much and know that even though things are bad right now that they will get better. If I think about Christmas any more I'm going to have a melt down, I hate seeing the Christmas Trees that are counting down 29 days until. I just want the water and electricity to stay on how can we afford EXTRA. I just want to push the pause button on life for awhile until we make more money then unpause. I dont mean to ramble

Liz, your post made me cry. I don't know but I guess I'm all emotional today. Thanks for sharing your grateful attitude even in the face of things not looking so good. I hope y'all have a good thanksgiving. Aren't kids just the best?

I love you too! I know what you are saying. I don't know how I'm going to get RaLee anything. I'm sewing and crocheting most of my stuff. Now the boys I feel bad because they just have Teele and I to buy for them and I am going to have to tell them there will be no Christmas. Your dad is sitting in the barn right now, in his recliner, says he's sitting to pray because his knees are sore. But I do know that you/we will get through this we always do. Believe it or not Heavenly Father knows our needs. He has blessed us in the past and will continue to do so.

Tamra, You are right kids are the best! Not only are they providing Thanksgiving dinner it has been a blessing to watch them help each other out in their time of need. I have to tell you we needed a bed for DJ really bad. Well I went on Craigs List and found a dresser for him for $20! Crystal and I went to pick it up, it happened to be in her housing area, and on the way we were talking about trying to find a bed for DJ. The couple selling the dresser had lost their jobs, she was injured on the police force and his company shut down. They sold a home they paid $230,000 for-for $110,000. They were selling everything and moving back to Minnesota to be with family. He then said, "You don't happen to need a bed do you? Because I will give it to you if you want it." I thought I would cry. Not only did he give DJ a Queen bed, he gave us a King and a Full bed set too! So Jessica and John got a new king and now I have a full for guests. That is just one of the little miracles I was talking about. Just thought I would share.

Mom,

You and Dad have always been such great examples to me. When things are tough things will work out if you have Faith. Thank you for teaching me so many things. I love you both so much! Tomorrow will be perfect and something will work out.

Well thank you sister, things will work out, maybe not how we wanted but yes how the Lord wanted it to.
Hugs and love to you all and I'm so glad nothing serious happened to RaLee!
Our furniture wasn't new either! 8 years old. Can you believe we've been together that long? Nothing compared to you and Teele! LOL
Happy Thanksgiving, blessings and love for you all~

We are headed into our second very lean Christmas in a row and I am actually looking forward to it. We had to keep things "simple" last year and instead we spent time with one another and drew closer as a family. It really is the reason for the season and it has been so hard to remember that all this time. I hope things can turn around soon for you. You will be in our prayers. Call or email if you need ideas! Get our great minds ... OK our cracked skulls together and watch out world!!!
