It’s been a while so thought I better update my blog. On RaLee’s birthday my jaw started to ache and by the lip sinc contest I was hurting pretty bad with my tooth. I started downing my antibiotics we bought in Mexico hoping to calm the infection. Then I woke up in the middle of the night in pure agony! I looked in the mirror and really didn’t recognize myself. My jaw line and lower lip were all swollen and I was miserable. Then a four day migraine set in and so did the vomiting. By noon the next day I just really wanted to depart this wonderful life and call my mission complete. Amanda insisted I go to the dentist but with no insurance and Teele barely working we are just scraping by. Amanda found a dentist that would see me and Crystal drove me. I argued with them and just really didn’t want to go. I was sick the entire trip to Alma School road. They rushed me right back, you should have seen the looks on peoples faces when they saw my face – pure horror! They took my blood pressure which was 145/120 (very high for my normal 80/60). They barely got an x ray and I had three teeth abscessed. They gave me some prescriptions and sent me home with a warning to go straight to the ER if my swelling worsened or if I had difficulty breathing. On the way home from the dentist Crystal looked at me with big tears in her eyes and said, “Mom I did not know a face could do that! You look like you have Elephant-itis!” I was sick all the way home and was so GLAD to finally be in my bed! Around midnight I woke up and my swelling was down my neck and up my forehead. My ear and neck hurt and there was red streaks all over my neck and up the side of my head. I tried to wake hubby but that’s like trying to wake the dead. So I went into the living room where John was awake and studying for an exam. He took one look at me and said, “Are you ready to go to the hospital now?” I said, “Yes, if I don’t I think I will be dead soon.” So my sweet son-in-law drove me to Desert Vista and stayed with me the entire night!
I entered the Hospital ER and received “Looks of Terror/disgust” and they got me right back (they were probably afraid I would scare the children). The nurse took one look at me and came back with her arms full of IV solutions. She shot me full of morphine and life was good. They got 5 IV bags started with anti nausea, antibiotics and other stuff for dehydration. I was home by noon and went straight to bed where I remained for 10 days. My Imitrex wouldn’t get rid of the killer migraine I had so I truly was one miserable woman. But with several blessings, prayers, and Jessica bringing me my meds every 6 hours I eventually got better. I have oral surgery ahead-probably Monday but I say pull every tooth in my head! I could care less to ever have another episode like that again! I took one cell phone picture of myself just hours into the swelling. I wish I had someone take one before I went to the hospital it was awful. If I can get RaLee to figure out how to get my cell photo off the phone I MIGHT get brave and post it….It’s not flattering at all!
PARTY
Remember the friend party I said RaLee was going to have. Well she only invited 150+ of her closest friends…her words not mine. We had it at Crystal’s house and all I can say is that WE SURVIVED! Here are some photo’s.
This is John’s new Harris Hawk he trapped the kids enjoyed seeing it…
Tons of food…
Some friendly wrestling matches…
Yes he is wearing a Bratz back pack. Ray say’s he wears all kinds of funny backpacks…
Some of the football team had fun flying/lifting the cheerleaders into full extensions
A shot from the second story window. We had kids coming and going all night. At one point we had 78 in the back yard and 36 in the house and a dozen in the front yard, so she had a nice turnout. The funny part was they couldn’t see us in the window they could only hear us. We gave them a three second warning to put away cell phones and then the water balloon’s came. I laughed so hard at Crystal she sure was enjoying bombing those kids!
They sang her Happy Birthday…
Had a cake fight….
and of course Dad and big Bro Royal dished out some swats. She had a wonderful time!
That’s what we’ve been up to lately. I’m still weak but feeling better every day and the best part is knowing this birthday party is behind us!
