Day 1
I hink this in in Cabazon, CA any way we stopped to see the "Giant" Dinosaur on our way to Anaheim, Ca.
DJ
RaLee
Then Trey fell and scraped his elbow so back in the van we went.
We walked the Oceanside Pier and ate lunch at "Ruby's"Crystal has always wanted to eat here. Poor RaLee was so sick with a fever and sinus headache. She was very sick the first two days.
DJ's first trip to Cali and the Pacific
RaLee was trying to get brave enough to pet the Pelican...she chickened out.
Oceanside Beach
Day 2 "The Crayon Factory" or "Green Day"
Crystal and Spencer didn't want to tell the kids that we were going to Disneyland because then for weeks that's all they would hear about. So to curb their "enthusiasm" they told the children we were going to visit the Crayon factory and that each of them would get to pick out what color of crayon they would like to make at the factory. They let me tell them where we were going that morning! As you can see we were the first to arrive at Disneyland. Boy were we excited!
The entire gang
Mary Poppins and Burt! Crystal dressed the kids in matching bright colored clothing everyday. Today was Green Day and St. Patricks Day! That sure helped us keep track of the kids.
DJ was so excited to turn around and see Mary Poppins walk through a door just behind him!
Its A Small World...Izzy LOVED this ride! You could hear her squealing with delight throughout the entire boat ride. It was adorable.
Lunch Time
I like this picture because Ralee is slow to get ready and usually late for everything!
Day 3 - Yellow Day
Trying to help Uncle DJ pull the sword from the stone
Trey's favorite ride was Dumbo and Peter Pan
It's Woody and Jessy!
Jayden "If I don't look at her she won't notice me"
One of my best memories! Woody see's DJ's rodeo buckle and points to his own buckle...
Then Jessy joins in by showing her buckle to DJ then they compare buckles...
Jessy, DJ and Woody showing off their buckles...so cute!
Mickey Mouse! Notice Jayden..."If I don't Look at him"
Getting ready to ride the Pirates of the Caribean and Jayden is all tuckered out...she HATED the ride it was "too scary Daddy"
Waiting for the parade
Fireworks
Izzy Loved the Fireworks! She was such a trooper the entire trip!
Day 4- "Red & Pink Day"
Jungle Cruise...Jayden "It's Scary Daddy"
New Orleans...It is a family tradition to take a photo on these stairs when we go to Disneyland
DJ, Me and RaLee (Proof I was there)
We only thought the previous two days were busy but this was the busiest by far. There were people everywhere...long lines...I took this picture just to show how crowded it was. They actually stopped letting anyone in the park after twelve noon because it had reached it's capacity.
So we found a place to sit in the shade, eat, rest and watch. Spencer took the little ones to ride Dumbo and Peter Pan again. Turns out we found the perfect spot to rest! There was a little door beside us that all of the characters use!
Corella DeVille walked out the door and caught a woman sleeping...she said, "What? Sleeping! Theres NO sleeping in Disneyland!" It was hilarious becuase had she come out one minute prior she would have caught Crystal and I Sleeping!
William LOVES cotton candy!
Izzy taking a minute to stretch her legs...she is walking now!
We ended the day with a visit to the Disneyland Fire Station
March 19, 2010 Sage's 1 Year Angel Day Anniversary
Day 5 - "Blue Day at Disneyland Adventure Park"
Did you know that they put a giant "R" up just to honor RaLee?
The Tower of Terror LOVE this ride! We were determined to get Will, Wayne and Trey on this ride. So we lied to them and told them that it was a tour of Captain Jack Sparrow's Hotel Room. I started laughing when I was buckling them into their seats and I haven't stopped laughing. I woke up the other night and started laughing again. It was hilarious!
This is a picture of a picture...notice me looking at Trey then Will to my right? William was one mad little boy that Grandma "tricked" him. Trey just burried his head into my side and Wayne...well he went back TWO more times because it was only the "Most Awesome Ride Ever!"
California Screamin! This was one ride they couldn't talk Grandma into getting on.
Back: DJ and RaLee
Front: Spencer and John
I love the look on Spencer's face!
The Giant Ferris/Gondola Ride This ride terriefies me! Spencer kept trading sides and the kids kept getting up and moving around...I just kept my eyes closed...except to take an occasional picture.
Jayden kept looking out the window then she would say, "Your scared Grandma?"
Disney Pixar Parade
The green soldiers from Toy Story...so COOL!
William eating more cotton candy during the parade
I Loved their Grape Vines
Happy Birthday Spencer! Showing off his birthday gifts
Showing his Mickey Mouse Watch and a loaf of Mickey Sour Dough Bread
A comfy chair, A Tinker Bell Wand, and A Giant Lollipop! What more could a girl ask for?
Last Tram ride back to the car
Day 6 - San Diego
USS Midway Museum
I show you this picture because I caught Wayne standing on the netting covering this port hole! He was trying his best to tear the netting away from it because he wanted to see better! My heart nearly pounded right out of my chest! His skinny little body would have slipped right through that port hole and he would have fallen at least 75-100 feet into the ocean below. I don't know when I have ever been so scared.
The Brigg...where they sent soldiers that were being disciplined on board ship
Trey being Trey and Loving Life!
After touring the ship I sure had a greater appreciation for our soldiers. Their sleeping quarters are so small, hot and stuffy. I can't imagine how smelly it would be after months at sea. The engine rooms, steam room, welding room or even the kitchen had to have been horribly uncomfortable from the heat. They really did sacrifice so much so we can enjoy our freedoms...like family vacations!
This vacation was to honor Sage and his memory. It was one year ago that our little guy moved on "To better things". Crystal didn't want to be home sad and depressed and she didn't want that for her children. Instead they worked really hard to make it fun and to put some smiles on their faces.
We didn't forget our little man Sage by any means. You can visit his memorial blog and see how we honored his memory on this trip.
