I've had the privilege of spending the week with Amanda and John and their new baby. Belle had a rough first week. With jaundice making her very sleepy it was very hard keeping her awake long enough to eat. She lost nearly a full pound and had only 3 wet diapers in as many days so we went took her to Desert Samaritan today. She was a little dehydrated so they gave her an IV and checked out her kidney function. We were so relieved that all was well and little Belle could go home with instructions to see her pediatrician tomorrow.

They gave her some sugar water in a syringe. They said it would block the pain and they were right. She didn't make one sound and slept through it all!
Home again! Bathed, fed and sleeping on grandma.

I'm so thankful that her problems were not too serious. Isn't wonderful that there is so much help for these tiny ones to keep problems from getting worse!

She is such a little darling and so sweet. We love her so much. It is so neat to see Amanda and John be parents! So happy for them! She is so cute!
She is such a pretty little girl, I'm so happy for Amanda and John. I hope she will start eating soon and gain the weight she needs to be healthy. She is such a doll.
